Chemical Reactions Lab – Summer Camp
Cost: $325 per student (includes a $50 non-refundable deposit)
Location: 124 West Swanson Ave
Recommended Grades: 2nd–6th
Dates: June 8–11
Time: 10:30 AM – 1:30 PM
Class Overview
Students will explore chemistry through hands-on experiments that focus on mixtures, fluids, and chemical reactions. Each day, campers will observe, test, and analyze how substances interact while learning key science concepts such as density, pH, conductivity, and chemical change.
This lab includes a day of taste testing using lemonade, tea, and water. Please let me know ahead of time if your child has any allergies.
Experiments may include: Does It Dissolve, Milk Rainbow, Stack of Liquids, Crystal Creations, Iodine Indicators, Salt Lava Lamps, Taste Test, Cabbage Chemistry, pH Rainbows, Chemical or Physical Changes, Elephant Toothpaste, Super Suds, Pucker Power, and Formulating Fizz.
Our Week at a Glance
Day 1: Amazing Mixtures
Students will investigate solids, liquids, and gases while learning about solutions, mixtures, suspensions, and density.
Day 2: Salty Science
Students will explore conductivity, iodine deficiency, crystal formation, and the properties of salts and density.
Day 3: Phenomenal Fluids
Students will study acids and bases, pH, acid indigestion, antacids, and neutralization through hands-on fluid experiments.
Day 4: Radical Reactions
Students will observe chemical reactions, including endothermic and exothermic reactions, and learn how chemical reactions are used in everyday life.
