Ghastly Discoveries

Welcome to the exciting S.T.E.A.M. class, where young minds explore the world of ghost science through the engaging Ghost Science Kit Activity from Steve Spangler Science. Join us as we dive into the mysteries of the spectral world, conducting three intriguing experiments: Ghost Poop, Disappearing Ghost Eggs, and Glowing Ghost Eggs.

Experiment 1: Ghost Poop

  • Students will learn why the pellets that look like ordinary packing peanuts are called ghost poop. They will then form a hypothesis about what will happen when the "ghost poop" hits the water.

Experiment 2: Disappearing Ghost Eggs

  • In this experiment, students will observe the property of light and learn about refraction and reflection.

Experiment 3: Glowing Ghost Eggs

  • Students will use a backlight and a fluorescent dye. The ultraviolet light will activate the dye, causing it to glow. The glow will stop when the light is turned off. Students will experiment with different light energies to see how they affect the glow.

Benefits of Small Group Learning: I believe that small group learning provides a unique and enriching educational experience. With limited class sizes, students benefit from personalized attention, fostering deeper understanding and engagement with the subject matter. Collaborative learning encourages active participation, teamwork, and vibrant discussions, allowing students to share ideas and learn from each other's perspectives.

Putting the Scientific Method to the Test: Students will have the opportunity to put their critical thinking skills to the test by following the scientific method. From formulating hypotheses and designing experiments to making observations and drawing conclusions, students will engage in hands-on inquiry-based learning. This approach empowers young minds to think like scientists, fostering a lifelong love for exploration and discovery.

Join us on this captivating journey into the world of Ghost Science, where curiosity knows no bounds and learning takes on a hauntingly fun twist. Enroll today and unlock the secrets of the spectral realm with our Ghost Science Kit Activity!
